Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
The Security Clearance Specialist conducts comprehensive investigations, analyzes the information gathered and identifies risks or suitability for working at the Kelowna Detachment. Conducts security clearance checks and provides recommendations to the appropriate parties.
Duties - Union
  • Reviews completed security clearance forms for accuracy, completeness and full disclosure.
  • Conducts investigations, comprehensive interviews, rules out suspicious issues or areas of concern, compiles and analyzes information regarding the security clearance of potential/existing employees, volunteers and contractors.
  • Identifies risks posed by the results of the analysis in reference to misconduct, criminality, corruption, or criminal affiliation.
  • Prepares a variety of correspondence, comprehensive reports summarizing analysis, findings and statistics.
  • Works within established security policies pertaining to the secure handling and release of information, maintains records, files and documentation.
  • Researches files and information using RCMP databases and other information systems; software and applications.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing to complete interviews and write comprehensive reports
