Organizational Information
Purpose of your Position - Non Union | The position of Chief Technology Officer (“CTO”) is charged with developing an overall, cohesive vision for technology based service delivery – internally and externally – and leading the implementation of all associated strategies. The suite of responsibilities of the CTO includes being a primary driver of business innovation through digital transformation, with outcomes focused on elevated service delivery, cost efficiencies and enhanced cyber security. The CTO ensures the corporation has the strategies, policies, integrated business solutions, and infrastructure to support the complex requirements of local government including digital service delivery. The CTO plays a leadership role in the transformation of government in an ever increasing transparent and data driven world including open data and data analytics. The CTO is responsible for creating partnerships with government, academia, and community stakeholders to deliver Intelligent Community initiatives, including smart systems (IoT -Internet of Things, AI -Artificial Intelligence), open data, cloud computing and dark fibre. The CTO is responsible for the city’s digital transformation and automation strategy. The CIO will work alongside members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to ensure strategic and service needs are met for each service area. The CTO is responsible for digital service transformation, all technology based operational systems and associated policies, upholding Divisional service level agreements and other priorities as set by the City Manager or Council. The CTO will be a key advisor to members of the SLT and the City Manager. |

Credentials - Union | |
Knowledge - Non Union | Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and at least 10 years information services management experience with progressively greater responsibility. Experience on a senior management team overseeing information services strategic planning. |
